- What steps should the project take when I am ready?

- Meet with the contractor at your home to discuss the general idea and get a rough idea of the project's cost.
- Begin working with bank or lending institution on ability to attain a loan.
- Once it looks like a loan will be available, call the contractor to set up the next meeting to establish drawings specifications to enable the contractor to work up a budgeted cost.
- After contractor has had time to work up cost (7 to 10 days) review the contractor's estimate and discuss specifics of items that should be spelled out in contract.
- Sign the contract and begin the steps in proceeding with project through permitting, selections, and setting time schedules.
